WOOL TEXTILES FOR THE WORKPLACE

Textile23 develops wool upholstery textiles for the way people work now. As offices have moved from rows of desks to breakout zones, collaborative settings and softer, more considered spaces, the materials that furnish them have to do more: perform under daily use, feel good to be around, and stand up to specification. Persona, our debut 100% wool collection, is made for exactly this.

Why wool, and why here:
Wool is the original performance fibre. It is naturally durable, resists soiling and pilling, and recovers its appearance in a way synthetics do not, which matters in high-traffic workplace settings. It is comfortable underhand and warm in tone, softening the hard surfaces that dominate most commercial interiors. And as a single, natural fibre it carries none of the environmental baggage of blended synthetics. Persona is woven as 100% wool in a structured twill, built for the long life of a commercial project rather than the length of a fit-out cycle.

Where it works:
Persona is suited to the full range of workplace applications: breakout and lounge seating, collaborative and soft furniture, upholstered acoustic panels, and dividers and curtains where a natural, tactile fabric brings warmth to open-plan space. With a Martindale tested beyond 40,000 rubs and a structured, hard-wearing weave, it is specified for daily commercial use.

Made responsibly, kept in use:
Our approach to sustainability is practical rather than promotional. We work to keep material in use: reusing fabric scraps rather than discarding them, giving surplus rolls from manufacturers a second life, and collaborating with university design students on new uses for unused samples. Because Persona is woven from a single fibre, 100% wool with no synthetic blend, it is a rapidly renewable material and far simpler to recycle at end of life than mixed-composition fabrics. Persona is also free of intentionally added PFAS and free of added formaldehyde.

This is circularity as a working method, not a marketing line, and it is built into how we operate as a small, locally run studio.
