David Hoad is a respected interior designer known for his refined aesthetic, layered material palettes, and ability to balance elegance with functionality. Born in the UK, raised in New Zealand, and now based in Sydney, David brings a uniquely cross-cultural perspective to his work - one that reflects both precision and warmth.
With over a decade of experience in workplace, civic, and integrated architecture projects, David’s design approach is informed, human-centred, and conceptually driven. His spaces are thoughtful and purposeful - designed to encourage connection, spark conversation, and respond sensitively to context.
As the first collaborator to work with Textile23, David led the development of the Persona colour palette. His intuitive sense of tone and texture played a central role in shaping the fabric’s visual language, resulting in a collection that feels both grounded and contemporary.
David continues to explore how materials can shape experience. His work is inspired by the cultural energy of Sydney, a love of art and architecture, and a belief that good design should tell a story - quietly, confidently, and with lasting impact.
